Youth Scholarship Application

ArQHA Annual Scholarship Application

The Arkansas Quarter Horse Association provides one annual $1,000 scholarship. At the discretion of the scholarship committee and the availability of funds, more than one scholarship may be awarded in any one year. The application must be made during the applicant’s senior year of high school. Applicants must have been a member of the Arkansas Quarter Horse Youth Association for more than one year. Preference will be given to Arkansas residents, although nonresidents may apply if they meet the scholarship criteria. Actual awarding of the scholarship will be done upon receipt of a transcript showing completion of two semesters of college as a full-time student.

Applications are due by April 1st of the current year. The scholarship winner will be announced on May 1st.

In determining the winner, applicants will be judged on the following criteria:

40% - Length or tenure and contribution to ArQHYA
25% - Personality and attitude
15% - Leadership abilities
10% - Academic goals
10% - Activities and grades
